چکیده
The amplitude of an ultrasonic signal generated by electromagnetic acoustic transducers (EMATs) is typically low when compared to those generated by contacting transducers, which restricts the application of EMATs in the fields of nondestructive testing and nondestructive evaluation. The transmission process of a surface wave EMAT is studied, based on a previously established 3-D model, with the aim of enhancing the amplitude of ultrasonic waves generated by the EMAT. The effect of changing various EMAT parameters on the surface wave is investigated, by utilizing the orthogonal test method. Results indicate that after optimization, the signal amplitude of the EMAT has increased

Estimation of harmonic interference parameters of surface-NMR signal using an adaptive method and residual signal power
Surface nuclear magnetic resonance (surface-NMR) method is a well-known tool for determining the water-bearing layers and subsurface resistivity structure. Harmonic interference is an inevitable interference in surface-NMR measurements. Accurate estimation of harmonic interference parameters (i.e., fundamental frequency, phase and amplitude) leads to better retrieval of power-line harmonics and...
متن کاملNumerical investigation of free surface flood wave and solitary wave using incompressible SPH method
Simulation of free surface flow and sudden wave profile are recognized as the most challenging problem in computational hydraulics. Several Eulerian/Lagrangian approaches and models can be implemented for simulating such phenomena in which the smoothed particle hydrodynamics method (SPH) is categorized as a proper candidate. The incompressible SPH (ISPH) method hires a precise incompressible hy...
متن کاملThe Deterministic Generation of Extreme Surface Water Waves Based on Soliton on Finite Background in Laboratory
This paper aims to describe a deterministic generation of extreme waves in a typical towing tank. Such a generation involves an input signal to be provided at the wave maker in such a way that at a certain position in the wave tank, say at a position of a tested object, a large amplitude wave emerges. For the purpose, we consider a model called a spatial-NLS describing the spatial propagation o...
متن کاملEnhancement of the Excitation Efficiency of a Torsional Wave PPM EMAT Array for Pipe Inspection by Optimizing the Element Number of the Array Based on 3-D FEM
Electromagnetic acoustic transducers (EMATs) can generate non-dispersive T(0,1) mode guided waves in a metallic pipe for nondestructive testing (NDT) by using a periodic permanent magnet (PPM) EMAT circular array. In order to enhance the excitation efficiency of the sensor, the effects of varying the number of elements of the array on the excitation efficiency is studied in this paper. The tran...
متن کاملOptimization of a Focusable and Rotatable Shear-Wave Periodic Permanent Magnet Electromagnetic Acoustic Transducers for Plates Inspection
Due to the symmetry of conventional periodic-permanent-magnet electromagnetic acoustic transducers (PPM EMATs), two shear (SH) waves can be generated and propagated simultaneously in opposite directions, which makes the signal recognition and interpretation complicatedly. Thus, this work presents a new SH wave PPM EMAT design, rotating the parallel line sources to realize the wave beam focusing...
